A series of events on the topics of rooftop solar power took place in Viet Nam in August, as a part of GIZ’s Commercial and Industrial Rooftop Solar Project (CIRTS) project. The participants came from the national Viet Nam Electricity Group and its subordinate corporations and companies.

The events focused on identifying solutions to challenges in RTS power development, analysing smart meter data for the integration of distributed energy sources (DER), and examining the effects of the power grid when the RTS penetration rate increases. Part of the events also aimed at enhancing local partners’ capacities in digital transformation and sharing the international experience of the DER Management System.

At the event on August 4, Mr. Sven Ernedal, CIRTS Project Director, said, ” We will propose the establishment of a JETP solar energy policy dialogue platform for key stakeholders. I hope that today is the starting point for a fruitful discussion on suitable approaches to utilise the benefits of solar energy expansion from now until 2030 in Viet Nam.”
